Indiana’s Strategic Sites Inventory (SSI) Program, the most comprehensive in the nation, has now identified more than 2,000 highly competitive greenfield sites of all sizes, including Indiana’s large-scale XCEL sites and smaller, high quality FLEX sites.

Site acreage is completely customizable to accommodate individual projects, whether manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, offices or other needs.

Indiana leads the nation in the volume of sites identified, with 53 of Indiana’s 92 counties surveyed at the program’s mid-point.

Competitive sites exhibit minimal environmental and cultural resource concerns as well as favorable engineering and infrastructure conditions.

Collaboration and Partnership IEDC has created a statewide partnership with electric utilities and local economic developers to more effectively realize site readiness and move sites from possibilities to highly marketable real estate. Collaboration with county and municipal officials ensures strategic local knowledge of land use, land owner engagement, zoning, utility access, and political support.

Diverse Site Sizes and Land Uses Indiana’s SSI Program identifies and reviews sites of all sizes for diverse land uses. The 2,000 highly competitive sites already identified have been evaluated by a respected independent authority, applying extensive criteria including physical characteristics, infrastructure and permit positioning.
