Kristen Nunery, CEO and Founder of myCOI, had a vision for the company several years ago after learning that, on average, 7 out of 10 of requested insurance certificates come back non-compliant the first time. Because of this, companies are challenged with either finding more time in a day to ensure compliance or exposing themselves to unnecessary risk. The risk is simply unacceptable from a business perspective, so she decided to dive headfirst into the industry and create a solution to meet the demand.
Having worked in property management and residential construction, Kristen recognized this was an opportunity to develop a technology and service solution to simplify the process. In 2009, she founded myCOI after developing the software that the programs are built upon. Elevate Ventures, through participation in the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), has been an investor in myCOI since mid-2014. The investment capital, along with co-investment from individual investors, provided Kristen with the resources to attract technical talent and build out her sales and support team. myCOI's team and capabilities continue to grow at an incredible rate, and will make a positive impact on the community with the company's aggressive hiring in the Indianapolis community.
